2011-12 FORMAT
 
- Everyone bowls 5 games scratch (age divisions A, B, C, and D). Top 3 in each division (boys/girls combined) are awarded medals.
 
- No finals bracket. The highest boy and highest girl in A, B, C, and D is division champion and awarded a small scholarship and automatically qualify for the Tournament Of Champions.  The top 2 overall series of all the age divisions are also awarded scholarship bonuses.
 
- Bowlers qualify for the Tournament Of Champions by winning a division championship or by earning a medal in 3 or more events.  Bowlers are guaranteed to advance to the finals of the TOC by winning 3 or more division championships.

1. All 2011-12 USBC Youth playing and tournament rules are
 in effect unless otherwise listed in these rules or on
 the tournament flyer (Events are not certified this season).
 
2. Any person age 19-under as of 8/1/2011 may enter any
 event. Events are open to USBC members and non-members,
 but non-members must not be or have ever been Adult USBC,
 ABC, WIBC, or CTF members, and must be otherwise have
 USBC youth eligibility.
 
3. All tournaments are scratch singles (no handicap)
 unless otherwise posted.
 
4. EIGHT AGE DIVISIONS (age as of 8/1/2011): Boys A, Girls
 A (19-u); Boys B, Girls B (15-u); Boys C, Girls C (13-u);
 Boys D, Girls D (11-u). Your age as of Aug. 1
 determines your division for the entire season.
 If a bowler is entered into an incorrect division, it
 must be corrected before the last game of qualifying, or
 it shall result in disqualification.  A bowler may elect
 to register for a higher age division for the remainder of
 the season, but any points previously earned will be deleted. 
 
5. ENTRIES OPEN when announced at the event, usually 30-60
 minutes before the scheduled starting time. There are no
 advance mail, phone, or e-mail registrations or payments
 (except for the T.O.C). Entry fees are paid at
 registration.
 
6. ENTRIES CLOSE at the completion of the first game of
 qualifying. Late arrivals may register up to this point
 and commence bowling in the frame they arrive,
receiving zeros for each frame missed.
 
6a. WITHDRAW: If an entrant must withdraw or no-shows for
 a qualifying game or finals match, the match is a forfeit
 (0). There are no substitutions or alternates. Lower seed
 bowlers do not move up. There are no refunds of entry
 fees.
 
7. DRESS CODE: Although not mandatory, proper bowling
 shirts and attire are requested. The director reserves
 the right to require entrants to correct any offensive or
 improper attire before continuing participation.
 
8. BOWLING BALLS not meeting USBC standards concerning
 weight balance, hardness, or scuffing/surface altering
 are subject to removal for the remainder of the
 tournament. Bowlers are permitted to use alcohol or other
 USBC approved cleaners or polishes during competition.
 
9. CONDUCT: The Tournament Director may warn or disqualify
 bowlers for unsportsmanlike or disruptive conduct (rule
 406). Tournament Directors reserve the right to refuse
 any entry. Tournament Directors and/or Bowling Center
 Management may remove any coach or spectator for
 disruptive conduct and if necessary, suspend them from
 attending future tournaments. Bowlers will sign a dress
 code and sportsmanship acknowlegement when registering
 for the TOC.
 
10. SUSPENSIONS: Tournament Directors reserve the right to
 refuse any entry. The tournament manager reserves the
 right to suspend bowlers from future events for
 unacceptable conduct at their discretion.
 
11. ENTRY FEE BREAKDOWN [$20]: Awards/Expenses
     -- $10.00 Bowling Fees
     -- $2.00 Tournament of Champions Scholarships
     -- $4.00 Scholarships to each Division Champ at each event
     -- $2.00 Scholarships to All-Tour 1st/2nd at each event
     -- $1.50 Medals, Ribbons, Towels, etc. awarded at each event
     -- $0.50 Tournament expenses, postage, copies, etc.
Awards fees  returned 100% in the form of prizes and/or
Scholarships; prize ratio will be at least 1 in 10 for all age groups.
 
12. SCORECARDS are recorded and totaled at the completion
 of each game by each bowler. Bowlers are responsible for
 the accuracy of their own scores/totals and those of the
 other bowlers on their pair. Corrections may be made by
 the director up to the start of the matches with no
 penalty. After the finals begin, all scores and seeding
 positions are final.
 
13. BOWLER SEATING AREAS may only be occupied by
 directors or the bowlers on that specific pair. No coaches,
 parents, or spectators permitted in the settee area. No
 flash photography is permitted during competition.
 
14. LANE SCHEDULING is determined by division (when
 possible). As announced, bowlers will move a pre-determined
 number of lanes to the right for each game/match.
 
15. TIES for a division championship, a last bracket position, or
 finals match/game are decided by a 10th frame rolloff (until the
 tie is broken).  Ties for other bracket seeding or points (2nd,
 3rd) are decided by the bowlers' high game in qualifying.
 
16. PRE-TOURNAMENT PRACTICE: Paid practice games on
 any lane (based on availability by the host center) are
 permitted before the tournament at the discretion of the
 center.
 
17. PRACTICE BALLS: Before the first game of qualifying,
 bowlers receive approx. 8 minutes of practice on their
 starting pair. No practice balls are permitted between
 games of qualifying.
 
18. TOUR FORMAT: All entrants bowl 5 games, and the
 high series in each age group is crowned the division
 champion.
 
19. TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS: Any scholarship amounts
 publicized are estimates based on entries until posted at
 the Tournament of Champions. If a qualifying bowler
 declines their entry, bowlers qualifying below them do
 not attain their position or move up in ranking.
 
20. TO QUALIFY FOR THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS:
 - win a division title at any tour event, or earn at least 3 medals.
 
21. GUARANTEED IN ROUND 2 OF THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS:
 - win 3 or more division titles at any tour event
 
22. SCHOLARSHIPS will be administered by the USBC SMART
 program, and amounts are not final until completion of
 the Tournament of Champions.
